Cockpit Grate: A Reader's Project

Recently a reader, John b. from S/V 1969, a Venture 21, sent in the picture of his D-I-Y cockpit great.  He tells us That, “I made one from cedar fencing. My cockpit is tapered so I could not make vertical boards. so they are attached ladder style. It slides in toward the tube for my keel cable which is also the widest point. Here is a pic.
